Lora is a qualified barrister (non-practicing) called to the British Bar at Lincoln’s Inn in 2012 and a certified civil and commercial mediator. Obtaining a Doctorate in Political Science and reaching the semi-finals of the BPP National Mooting Competition were just two of her many achievements on the way to her call to the Bar.

With 16 years’ tax and commercial practice working with high net worth and ultra-high net worth individuals and corporates in Europe and the Far East, Lora has a wealth of experience in Private Client and Corporate advisory and is now often engaged as in-house counsel on temporary projects.

Extensive experience in dealing with HMRC tax investigations, Loan Charge disputes, representations against APNs, penalty appeals, individual and group settlements with HMRC, DOTAS/POTAS challenges, and assistance with CoP8 and CoP9 investigations. Author of numerous publications in the field of tax law and Private Client tax advisory.

In 2019, Lora was approached by HMRC to assist them with the Loan Charge disclosure tool, which was designed to encourage taxpayers to make voluntary disclosures.

In addition to her Commercial and Tax work, Lora possesses a wealth of experience in employment disputes, acting for both employers and employees, from internal grievances, contract disputes and furlough claims to pre-litigation settlements and employment tribunal representations.
